Text Box: Property Preservations-March is coming to an end and spring maintenance time is here! 
The simplest way to preserve your property is to stay current with routine inspections, maintenance and repairs.  Just like your car and teeth your home needs TLC with routine check up, maintenance and repairs.  Maintaining a home is quite a duty, but if you break it down by month it is not so overwhelming and much more manageable. 
Winter takes a toll on your property and in order to prevent deterioration and costly repairs it is imperative to know what to look for and how to maintain or repair any issues.

Hot Water Heater

Check Your Hot Water Heater for leaks.  It is recommended to drain your hot water heater quarterly. 

 

 

Inspect Brickwork and Stucco

Check for chipping, deterioration and abnormal deposits such as mold, mineral deposits, corrosion, etc.

 

 

Inspect Roof, Fascia, Eves and Trim

Check for rotting, chipping and flaking paint.  Check damaged shingles and tiles for potential leaks.

 

 

Inspect gutters and downspouts

Check for clogs, sags, dips and chips

 

 

Inspect Attic

Check for proper ventilation, obstructions, leaks and light coming through detecting roof damage.

 

 

AC/Heater Unit

Change filters, clean the air purifier and remove debris from exterior unit.

 

 

Inspect Doors and Windows

Check weep holes in windows and doors. Clean out dirt and dust. Lubricate rollers and latches

 

 

Lighting

Replace burnt out light bulbs

 

 

Faucets and Drains

Check Interior and exterior Faucets for leaks. Clean Aerators.  Replace if needed.  Clean drains with baking soda and run water through unused drains.

 

 

Alarms and Detectors

Check and Replace dead batteries

 

 

Landscape and Yard Debris

Clean Debris in Rocks and Planters, trim trees near or touching property, maintain your plants and shrubs to prevent soil erosion.

 

 

Check Sprinklers

Check Sprinklers for broken heads and pipes and replace if broken
